It is with deep sorrow that I write this. Terry and I started becoming close cousins back when he was in the Vietnam war. We wrote several letters back and forth to each other during that time.
Even though I was 9 years younger than him I really admired and looked up to him. We continued to keep in contact during the years and in April of 2013 we flew him up to Wisconsin to be a pallbearer for my mom's (his Aunt Jannette's) funeral. My mom loved him so much that we knew she would want him to be there. Two days before my mom's death I had total knee replacement so I leaned on Terry's shoulder throughout the whole funeral. He rode up with us to Woodstock Cemetery for her burial where he could see his dad's, brother's, grandparents', and loved ones graves. We so enjoyed having him at our home during that time! He always called me his only girl cousin, which I am, and always made me feel special and loved. My husband Mike and I always enjoyed his phone calls and texts and am SO GLAD that he called us a couple weeks ago and talked at length. We talked about God and how we prayed to Him throughout the day , deer hunting, etc. My heart is heavy knowing I will no longer get his phone calls, texts, BUT I know that I will see him again in Heaven where the majority of our Peckham family is now. He will truly be missed....all my love and prayers to his wife , sons, daughter in laws, grandchildren and loved ones!
