Richard Andrew Matthews Sr, 76, of White Hall, went to be with the Lord Sunday, November 27, 2022. He was born January 15, 1946 in Camden to Earnest and Mary Lucas Matthews.
Richard served in the United States Army in 1964. He helped serve and then owned several franchise businesses named Minute Man Restaurants. Richard worked at Hood Packaging for 30 plus years and had his own handyman service helping those in his local community and surrounding areas. He was an upstanding member of the White Hall community for over 40 years. Richard enjoyed traveling but his favorite place to visit was Branson Missouri. Two of his most favorite things were Coke Classic and Cracker-Barrel. Richard has always been known for his integrity, work ethic, tenacity and drive. He passionately loved Jesus, his children, grandchildren, family and friends.
Survivors include his sons, Richard Matthews Jr, Brian Matthews and Billy Matthews; daughter Aundrea Nichols; sister, Gabrielle Daniel; grandchildren, Brittney, Courtney, Ernest, Ashleigh, Vanessa, Ethan, Kinley, Daniel, Randall, Gwen, Kaylee, Nathaniel and Eden; and great grandchildren, Emmaleigh, Gracelynn, Easton and Stella.
Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Elmer “Buddy” Garrett and John David Daniel ; sisters Billie Carruth, Sabra Kimbrell, Faye Nelson and Evelyn Deahl; and grandson, Aeron Matthews.
Graveside service will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 PM Tuesday at Robinson & Fuller White Hall Chapel.
