Obituary

It is with deepest sorrow that the family of Jacob Floyd Bennett, 94, of White Hall, announces his passing Sunday, June 21, 2020. He was a deeply beloved father and grandfather.

He was born May 2, 1926 in Star City, son of Thomas and Ida Wingard Bennett.

Mr. Bennett was reared and received his early education in Star City.

He proudly served his country during World War II.

Mr. Bennett worked for Central Moloney for 29 years, retiring as a coil welder.

He loved the great outdoors, including hunting and fishing, and enjoyed getting to know people.

Mr. Bennett was a member of First Baptist Church of White Hall.

Jacob was a kind and soft-spoken man who loved all his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pansy Wolfe Bennett; two brothers, George Bennett and Gerald Bennett; three sisters, Addie Bennett Hollaway, Loraine Bennett Yates and Nita Bennett McDaniels; and his loving companion, Bubba.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda Bennett Letchworth and her husband, Jerry and Diana Bennett King and her husband, Donald; two sisters, Florence Bennett Middlebrooks and Colleen Bennett Southern; two granddaughters, Angela Gibson and her husband, Michael and Charity Thurman and her husband, Brawny; grandson, Rickey Megee; five great-grandsons; two great-granddaughters and two great-great-granddaughters.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 26, 2020 at Robinson and Fuller White Hall Funeral Chapel with Brother Paul Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Hardin Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Robinson and Fuller. Face masks will be required for both events.

Uncle Jay was such a wonderful man. I am so sorry for your loss. Wish I could be there to properly pay my respects. I'm glad he and Aunt Pansy are together again. Many prayers and much love to you all.
