Obituary

Jimmy Ray “Chip” Massey, Jr., age 46, of White Hall, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2020.

Born December 12, 1973 at Pine Bluff, he was the son of Edith Helton Terry of White Hall and the late Jimmy Ray Massey, Sr. He graduated from White Hall High School in 1992.

Chip had worked as an automobile salesman for several years and had also worked for Amazon while living in Las Vegas. He returned to White Hall in 2018.

He had a passion for fishing and his family. His favorite phrase was “I’m about to get a bite” to stay on the lake a bit longer.

Chip faced the challenges of his life and came out on top.

In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his grandparents, Roy Helton, Carrie Helton Mullins, Edgar R. Massey, and Lena Marie Massey Cooper.

Survivors include his mother, Edith Terry (Bill); his sister, Laura Kauffman (Tom) of White Hall; a son, David Peterman of Moyock, NC; a niece, Jessica Vincent (Levi); his nephew and fishing buddy, Jeremiah “Buck” Moore; and a very dear friend, Sonya Kervin.

Chip’s funeral service will be held Saturday, February 22, 2020, 2:00 p.m. at Central Baptist Church with Brother Jordan Ferris officiating. A private family burial will be in Macedonia Cemetery near Rison by Robinson & Fuller White Hall Funeral Chapel.

Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until service time.

I am so sorry to learn of Chip's death. I remember when you guys lived across the street and he would sit outside and play his guitar. He is now with his Dad for eternity. God bless you all.
