Billy Joe Covey, 89, of White Hall, passed away Sunday, September 5, 2021. He was born April 4, 1932 in Danville, Arkansas to the late Inez Covey.
Billy served in the U.S. Air Force, spending time in Vietnam before retiring July 1, 1970. He was also worked at the Pine Bluff Arsenal before retiring. Billy was a member of the Arkansas Retired Military Association, the American Legion and was a Mason.
Preceding him in death were his mother; wife, Helen Hayes Covey, whom he married December 21, 1952 and who passed away October 9, 2011; and daughter, Carol Covey.
Survivors include his son, Chuck Covey of Jacksonville; daughters, Cheryl Jones and Carla Covey, both of White Hall; grandchildren, Chris Covey of Pine Bluff, Heather Peters (Nathan) of Jacksonville, Haley Garrett (Ryan) of Redfield, Waylon Jones (Jorlyn) of Olathe, Kansas, and Jessica Hornsby of White Hall; great grandchildren, Alyson Peters, Noah Peters, Kianna Jones, Maverick Jones, Talon Jones, Whitley Garrett and Weston Garrett; a host of nieces and nephews; and a special former son-in-law, Brian Hornsby who was always there when they needed someone.

Graveside service will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at Arkansas State Veteran’s Cemetery in North Little Rock with Rev. Dean Dancer officiating. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 PM Monday, September 13, 2021 at Robinson and Fuller White Hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
